Creator Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 August 2026 · Applies to creator academies on LEARN
1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an academy or creator account on LEARN ("Learn", "the platform"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the platform to sell courses.
These Terms apply specifically to your use of Learn as a creator. Our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to your use of Stack Technology Limited's wider website and services.
2. Your Academy Account
2.1 Creating an academy, through self-serve signup, or provisioned on your behalf by our team, gives you your own storefront and course catalog under a unique academy URL.
2.2 You may log in by email magic link, password, or Google sign-in.
2.3 You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
2.4 One academy per creator, unless otherwise agreed in writing with Stack Technology Limited.
3. Commission & Fees
3.1 Standard plan. We charge a 5% commission on each course sale, deducted automatically at the point of payment. You receive the remaining 95% directly to your connected payout account, we do not hold your funds in a custodial wallet.
3.2 LEARN Pro (optional). You may opt into LEARN Pro at any time from your Account Settings. LEARN Pro raises the commission to 15% and adds certificate issuance under your academy's name (Section 6). There is no separate subscription fee under either plan, commission is the only cost, with no caps on courses, learners, or storage.
3.3 Switching plans. You may move between Standard and LEARN Pro at any time from Account Settings. The change takes effect immediately once your connected payout account is confirmed, and applies to sales made from that point forward.
3.4 Rate changes. We may change commission rates with at least 30 days' notice to active creators. A new rate applies only to sales made after it takes effect.
4. Payouts
4.1 You must connect a valid Nigerian bank account through Paystack to receive payouts. We cannot pay out to an unconnected or unverified account.
4.2 Payout timing follows Paystack's standard settlement schedule. We are not responsible for delays caused by Paystack or your bank.
4.3 You are solely responsible for any taxes owed on your earnings from course sales.
5. Your Content
5.1 Ownership. You retain all ownership rights in the courses, videos, documents, and other materials you upload ("Creator Content").
5.2 License to us. By publishing a course, you grant Stack Technology Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, stream, and display your Creator Content solely to operate the platform and deliver your course to learners who purchase it.
5.3 Your warranty. You confirm that you own, or have the right to use, everything in your Creator Content, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
5.4 Prohibited content. You may not upload content that is illegal, fraudulent, sexually explicit, hateful, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property. We may remove content that violates this section, and may do so without prior notice where necessary.
6. Certificates (LEARN Pro)
6.1 LEARN Pro academies may issue a completion certificate to learners who finish a course, bearing your academy's name and a signee name and title you configure in Account Settings.
6.2 The signee name and title on a certificate are fixed at the moment that certificate is issued. Changing your settings afterward does not alter certificates already issued to learners.
6.3 Standard-plan academies do not include certificate issuance.
7. Your Learners
7.1 You are responsible for the quality, accuracy, and delivery of your own course content.
7.2 We provide the platform, checkout, hosting, content delivery, quizzes, and, for LEARN Pro, certificates, but are not a party to the sale between you and your learner beyond facilitating payment and delivery.
7.3 Course purchases are non-refundable once a learner has begun the course, consistent with our general policy for digital services.
8. Suspension & Termination
8.1 We may suspend your academy for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, chargebacks, or at our reasonable discretion to protect platform integrity. Suspension disables logins and new sales for your academy; it does not retroactively affect purchases learners have already made.
8.2 You may close your academy at any time by contacting us. Learners retain access to content they have already purchased.
8.3 We will make reasonable efforts to give notice before suspension, except where fraud or illegal activity is suspected.
9. Platform Changes
We may add, change, or remove features of the Learn platform at any time. We will give reasonable notice of any change that materially affects your commission rate or previously completed sales.
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
10.1 The platform is provided "as is." We do not guarantee any particular level of sales, learner traffic, or revenue.
10.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising from these Terms is limited to the commission fees we actually collected from your academy in the three months preceding the claim.
11. Data Protection
Learner and creator personal data (names, emails, payout details) is handled under our Privacy Policy, which governs data collection and use across all StackTech products.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Active creators will be notified of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
